With our help, you meet all requirements of the EU-Whistleblower-Directive. The implementation deadline expired in December 2021 without introduction of new rules into German law. However, the coalition agreement contains respective terms foreseeing a soon implementation of the directive. Private companies with more than 50 employees will be required to set up a whistleblower system. For public companies and municipalities with 50 or more employees and municipalities with 10,000 or more inhabitants, the EU directive and thus the obligation to establish an internal reporting office directly applies.

What distinguishes the eagle service from a pure provider of a whistleblowing system?
With us, you will get a whistleblowing system meeting the highest IT standards together with the operation of the reporting office as one service. We take care of the setup of the reporting platform for you. Our team performs the first-level-review of all reports as well as the communication with the whistleblowers.
What is included in the first-level-review of the reports by eagle?
First, the report is assigned to an eagle-expert. The expert sends a confirmation of receipt to the whistleblower. The report is then checked for validity. Via the anonymous mailbox of the reporting platform, eagle clarifies any questions regarding the facts of the case. You will then receive a case summary. The first-level-review is always carried out by two eagle-experts adhering to the the four-eyes-principle.
Are there any additional fees for the first-level-review?
The first-level-review is already included in the monthly fixed rate for a defined number of reports.
How does eagle inform the client about incoming reports?
During an implementation workshop, contact persons and their representatives are defined (e.g. for each legal area).
We do not have an investigation department in within our company. May eagle also assist with internal investigations?
Our investigation and eDiscovery experts are happy to support you in the case of internal investigations. This may for instance include securing evidence and performing a structured review of emails to clarify the facts. If required, we will refer experts from our network, free of commission (e.g. lawyers specialised in anti-trust proceedings).
How long does it take to implement the reporting platform and to start operating the reporting office?
Your reporting office will be operational within a few days. We lead you through the process and “take you by the hand”.
Is the reporting platform integrated into the company’s IT landscape?
No. You will receive a link to the reporting platform which you can place on the intranet or on your website (e.g. in the Code of Conduct).
Is there going to be a general reporting in addition to the communication about individual cases?
You will bi-annually receive a reporting dashboard from eagle. This report contains information on the number of reports received by whistleblowers, the areas of law, the processing time as well as a current status of all reports being processed. In addition, we will regularly remind you of deadlines (e.g. for the final report to the whistleblower).
What happens if the report contains allegations against the management or compliance officers who are direct contact persons for incoming reports?
By defining representatives of the main contact persons, eagle ensures that the report will be forwarded to these representatives.
