eagle lsp acquires Berlin-based AI startup Progius

Germany's leading legal services provider eagle lsp GmbH acquires the Berlin-based AI startup Progius GmbH.

This expands eagle’s own tech stack with Progius AI technology and further strengthens the tech team, which has just received an award from WirtschaftsWoche.

Progius specializes in the use of artificial intelligence and natural language processing in the legal sector. To date, Progius has made a name for itself with an AI-supported search for legal documents, offering some well-known partners an efficient solution for knowledge management. Through the merger with eagle lsp, Progius technology and know-how will be used more broadly. In addition, eagle will gain clout with parts of the Progius team to drive its own projects forward more quickly. “We are delighted to further expand our tech team with Progius, especially Caspar von Galen and his team, and to further strengthen our technological expertise,” explains eagle Managing Director Dr. Malte Schafstedde.

Caspar von Galen is also looking forward to his new role in the eagle environment: “eagle is a modern company that shares our vision for the use of AI in the German legal market and is willing to invest in this vision. I look forward to working with eagle’s outstanding tech team to directly apply our AI technology to create value for exciting clients.”

eagle lsp has been on the market since the end of 2019 and has become known in the market primarily for mass litigation, eDiscovery support and compliance services, for example for supply chain law, data protection management or in the whistleblower context. The approximately 125 team members now support almost 1,000 law firms and companies of all sizes, from DAX 40 corporations to SMEs.

Oops, what happened to our logo? The “27% of us” campaign sends out a clear signal and we support it 100%. Companies are removing 27% of their logo, because 27% of employees in Germany have a migration background and are therefore indispensable for working and economic life in Germany. This initiative clearly opposes right-wing extremism and emphasizes the essential role of diversity in our society.

For us at eagle, the background of each and every one of us has not been an issue since day one. Our eagles have diverse nationalities and speak more than 20 different native languages. We live diversity and firmly believe that different views, lifestyles and backgrounds make us more diverse and therefore better.
